About Rachael

Rachael Welsh is the librarian at Brazoswood High School in Clute, Texas. Over her 14-year career in education, she has taught English and Theater on the high school level and has been a librarian in both elementary and high school programs. She has served on the TLA Programming Committee as the Social Media Chair for TLA Annual Conference 2021 and is currently the co-chair of the TASL Teacher Day@TLA Committee and is a member of the Legislative and Advocacy Committees, TASL Social Media Committee, and the TAYSHAS Reading List Committee.

Outside of the library, Rachael is an 18-year veteran of her local community theater Brazosport Center Stages, with her favorite roles including director of multiple productions, and (of course!) performing as Marian the Librarian in The Music Man. A lifelong lover of literature and drag queens, she lives by the mantra that "reading is fundamental!"
